Useful habits that will help you to beat depression and
anxiety, there are some question always raised that,
What helped you
overcome your depression?
What helped you overcome your anxiety?
There were a lot of
factors but looking back the one thing that really did help me, was the useful
habits that I started introducing, when I hit that period of depression that
really decrease my struggling point, experience forever feeling fatigue, see in
no real future. I didn't have any other daily habits to rely on, the only
habits that I had were self-destructing habits that would get me deeper and
deeper into that depression as soon as I started integrating good habits into
my daily routine, I started to find myself feeling better, I started to find
myself coming out of that depression and most important with these daily habits
as well as they're actually going to help you manage your depression.
Different ways to boost your mood, so if you're feeling low,
if you're feeling depressed then these different tips are going to help
massively, now we have to talk about the pressure more because one in four
people will suffer with depression and it's important to note that depression
is something that you can handle. You know there's so many people that suffer
with depression in the past and overcame it as myself also included. So it's
important to notice that how you're feeling right now, can be changed and these
tips are hopefully going to help you.
1. Mindfulness ( meditation), to deal
with depression:
Mindfulness is a great
way to stay calm, to deal with daily stresses, to not get angry and also to be
able to deal with that anxiety and depression. Mindfulness could just be you
sitting down quietly for a few minutes focusing in on your breath, a simple technique
is to breathe in for four seconds and then double with that breath on the way
out so you can breathe out. If you can't achieve that breathe out for six or
breathe out for five but you want to make that out-breath longer than the
in-breath, it's a very good way of just relaxing focusing in on your breath. When
you're going to find that's going to help with mindfulness, you can take a
deeper, you can do guided meditations, and you can do visualization.
2. Beating depression and anxiety is
focused aim.
There’s times where I feel very low and I feel that depression
coming back, but I can then relate back to these daily habits use some of them
again to make me feel good that make me not fall deeper into that hole. The
first daily habit that's going to help you is Beat depression and anxiety is
focusing.
3. Self-awareness.
Some people said that coffee causes their anxiety, they can
now see through self-awareness that the caffeine that they're taken in, is
actually causing their anxiety so it's all about being self-aware knowing what
foods make you feel depressed knowing what foods make you feel anxious and
trying to cut them out.
4. Exercise help in the excretion of
endorphins: feel-good hormone.
Now you probably know the benefits of exercise and you don't
need me to tell you the benefits of exercise, but you know I'm not going to
scientific on you but exercise reliefs is chemicals called endorphins and
endorphins are simply what you call the feel-good hormone. When you do a bit of
exercise, it's going to release endorphins and to make you feel better. So what
you can do is when you're feeling low when you're feeling depressed just do a
little bit of exercise. so think back to the last time you exercise try and
think back to that feeling that you had once you completed the session, you
felt good right well. that's what you really want to tap into the problem is
getting to exercise, so don't think you have to commit to an hour to half an
hour even if you just did five minutes of jogging on the spot ten minutes of
jogging on the spot y, that's going to start to release those endorphins that
start to make you feel better about yourself. So the next time when you feel
quite low and quite depressed, try and do some exercise that help you
massively.
5. Build your support network.
we find ourselves feeling very isolated we don't have that
community we don't have that support and when we feel isolated we feel very
depressed and community is all about getting out there and speaking to as many
people as you possibly can now. just having that community around you where
people knowing that you exist is really a great feeling when you actually are
feeling depressed building your support network around you meeting up with
friends meeting up with people that you haven't met for a while family members,
your community, your support network is going to get you through these tough
times don't feel isolated, there really is no excuse remember that we are all
humans we're all the same species we all struggle with mental health one in
four people will struggle with depression if not more so everyone is going
through the same.
6. Satisfy your inner child.
you were you know a child from inside, you always got given
something if you did something well you always want being rewarded and then you
typically rewarded yourself as well so you're on a child is screaming for some
kind of reward if you do something well reward yourself.
7. The power pose (celebrate your wins more
often).
so if you do something good you know enjoy and celebrate it
you know it could be as simple as changing your body language if you look into
research about the power pose you know people would naturally do that if they
win a race the arms go up and that's what's called the power pose and just that
body language change makes you feel a lot better about yourself so you need to
start celebrating your wins more often and when you celebrate more it's going
to boost your self-esteem and it's going to boost your mood.
8. Laugh more than before for a better
mindset.
Watch comedy, just go out with friends laugh more again.
Laughing scientifically will put you in a better mood so it will put you in a
better mood, it'll put you in a better mindset to start to laugh a little bit
more. Although do take life seriously but also enjoy it also. Tap into your
inner child things used to do as a child that you loved you know go and do that
now. So have fun, laugh more and you're going to feel a lot better as well.
9. Journaling is a great tool to use.
you're going to be able to get through those worries those
stresses and anxiety by writing them down onto a piece of paper, you can start
to rationalize with them when they're here they become heightened they become
very difficult to deal with but when they're in front of you on a piece paper
they're almost like they're not your problems there's someone else's problems
and you can start to rationalize with them. So grab a plain notepad, a pen and
just write down whatever comes up in your mind, don't structure it, just write
down. then by doing that I can then look at the paper look at what I'm journaling
and I can start to rationalize those thoughts and I can also start to come up
with solutions they then become more easier to deal with so journaling is a
great tool to use.
10. Daily affirmations repeat over and over
again.
you will repeat over and over again you have to think of your
mind as your thoughts as a computer all it is a computer system, it's going to
boot up the same way, it's going to open the same programs, it's just going to
behave the same way, every single day unless you reprogram that and one of the
ways that you can do, is through daily affirmations. if you don't feel good
about yourself you have to train your mind and tell yourself that you are good,
if you lack confidence you have to tell yourself and remind yourself that you
are confident, if you don't feel happy you have to tell yourself and remind
yourself that you are happy being accepting of everything, that you already
have there's plenty of affirmations out there, that you can find that are
related to any issue that you have you can also make up your own affirmations,
but I highly recommend that when you do have an affirmation you say it over and
over again, you say it loud and you truly mean it and within time and within
consistency your mind is going to start believing that sentence. so try
affirmations.
11. To seek silence.
You know we're so busy all the time but always try to relieve
stress and clear your mind. it could be as simple as sitting at home in silence
just try and do that more often because you'll start to self-reflect and you
start to realize things about you and where you actually want to be going so
seek silence.
12. To give to others.
just do a small good deed for someone, every single day ,when
you're focusing only in on yourself, when you feel like a victim, when you're
focusing in on your own insecurities, your own depression ,your own worries,
your own stresses everything that's going wrong for you. you lack perspective
that there are people in the world in a much worse off situation than you and
when you do something good for someone else it's going to of course make you
feel better it's just a natural human trait when you do something good for
someone else you're going to feel good so why do we lack it. However smaller is
to try and do something good for someone else every day.
13. Fuel the body with the right stuff.
on what you need now this is an obvious one and you'll
probably thinking I know this already but honestly what you're putting into
your body is going to have a huge impact on how you feel one of the reasons why
I was so depressed and one of the reasons why I struggled to overcome. It was
because I was just eating junk, I was just not fueling my body with the right
stuff. Your God in fact has a huge link to your depression to your mental health
and if you're not feeding your body the right stuff, if you're not fueling it
correctly, it's going to have an on your mental health.
Gradually eating food
like carrots and broccoli and healthy stuff with consistency, you're going to
find that you're actually going to start to feel a lot better. it's all about
understanding what works for you as well what works for me is fasting so I like
to fast for sixteen to twenty hours a day that sounds like a long time but I
sleep for about eight of those hours and I've spoken about intermittent fasting
before but this works very well for me because I have a lot more mental clarity
when I'm actually fasting.
when I start eating I cannot stop eating, I feel very
fatigued so this is what works for me so you have to figure out what works for
you understand what you're putting into your body is causing an impact on your
mental health on your depression and on your anxiety.
14. To cut back the beard.
cut back the alcohol guys like there's nothing wrong with
having a good beer having a good you know drink up at the weekend but if you're
drinking every day you need to understand that alcohol is a depressant so if
you're feeling depressed and you're drinking you're literally just feeding
yourself a depressant so if you cut back the alcohol you might start to find
that your mood and your depressive state starts to change as well.
15. More
water intake.
Gradually water intake and drink more water is going to make
you have a more mental clarity it's going to make you feel better
16.
Take a cold shower.
now the second way, I recommend is to take your shower as you
normally to put maybe some shampoo on, and then change to cold, and then simply
use the cold water to rinse off the shampoo. Now it's going to be a real shock,
as people have said that cold water shower helps boost testosterone and it has
so many benefits. So really stick active, that's going to change your state and
that's going to dramatically make you feel better as well so you can take a
cold shower and that's also going to boost your mood.
